Scene from Syria: Documenting the Random Attacks, Sleuthing After the Cause.
Tyler Hicks, L, standing atop a big chunk of heaved soil to make a record of an ordnance crater. Out in the wheat fields where a weapon we have not identified landed two nights before, shaking the ground and exploding with such force that it woke a roomful of us up - a few kilometers away. Unusual rockets have been falling in Syria’s northern countryside. With time we hope to trace them to their sources, though the clues so far are few.
